Default Anti-Theft Code

I had to disconnect my battery for install of my V2 (which is amazing!!)

Now, my stock stereo is asking for the "CODE." I found my code amongst my paperwork, entered the code just as the directions say, and nothing. It keeps telling my there is an error. Any ideas?

P.S. I drive an 03 Civic EX.

Thanks

I went to my local dealer and they got me the code in about 5 minutes. Just have to have your title/registration or something like that, or proove that its yours somehow. Mine didnt even ask me for ID, he just hopped in and looked it up.

There's a way to get your serial number, they can do it for you, or tell you. Some will do it over the phone, but I didn't run into one. Chances are its the wrong code, or who knows. It's an easy fix though.

I can't remember exactly how to get the serial, or enter the code, I forgot, lol.

Anyway, hope that helps.

I just talked to the dealership and they told me to disconnect the battery, drain the power, then reconnect, and start all over. WTF? Does that mean he wants me to drain my battery? So I would then have to jump it? I guess I just don't get it.

What?? That doesn't make any sense. Yeah, they should be able to give it too you. Just drive over there. This ordeal happened to me but luckily when I called my dad, he still had the code in his palm pilot from years ago, lol. I keep it in my glovebox thhough, not like I care if anyone steals my cd player. If they did, they'd almost be doing me favor it at least giving me motivation to go buy a new one, lol.

I think if you've entered the code wrong too many times, you then have to leave the unit on for an hour without pressing any buttons before trying again.

By drain the power they mean just leave the battery disconnected for about 30 mins. Even though the battery is not connected there is still a little power in the electronics on the car, not enough to power anything but there is power there.

Thank you gentlemen! I figured it out. The code can be found in the fuse box. I have the wrong code on the paperwork they gave me. Got the right code, just punched it in and didn't even have to disconnect any battery cables. Excellent!!
