I learned to drive stick on my civic too, i had a little bit of experience on how to get out of 1st gear due to the fact that i work at an install bay and we have auto and sticks come in and i have to know how to drive both in order to do the cars. plus there is only one person per shift so i had to learn atleast to get out of 1st gear..............lol plus i would take joy rides on customer cars who had sticks....dont tell no one lol

Stick here. Never bought a manual yet (83 Ford Escort WAGON, 84 Chevette, 84 Toyota, 97 Civic) ALL manual. If it I needed a new car and the closest thing to what I wanted came auto, I'd take it...but I prefer stick.

Automatic, and I'm not sorry. ;-)

Not only am I happy to let the car shift, I look forward to the day when the car does the driving, and I have both hands free to make out with supermodels.

Stick, should have made this a poll. Now I'm kinda curious what the % is around here but I'm not counting. Hey mods, or ESCivicY8, can we still change it to a poll? Oh yeah, I learned on stick when I was about 7.

For the record, my auto tops out at about 45 in first gear.
Odd. Mine hits the Rev Limiter (7000 RPM) at 40 MPH. DO you have the D16Z6?
