Question Stock B16y8

I have a fully stock 98 civic ex coupe 5spd. I'm pretty be new to all this so I don't know a lot about cars but I want to learn and make mine better I was told a b16 is one of the best to start on it only has 76,000 miles on it and it was adult owned and has never really been ripped. So I figured this would be the best car to really learn how to build up and make better and faster I'm just looking for ideas on what to do to it.

No B series. You have a D16y8. D16 is fine for fuel efficiency. B16s are no where near the best place to start. They are gutless. B18's would be better IMO.

imo motor swaps are pointless if you're looking for more power, considering the costs going into it. Set it up for turbo and be done.

If you're worried about emissions you can do what I do and swap out the fuel injectors, map sensor, fuel prssure regulator, and ecu with stock parts to pass. Takes less than a hour, once a year.

Or you can go K-series, then spend a lot on k-pro and never worry about emissions again while also having a custom tune.

If you do go b-series I'd go with b18 like cvcrcr99 said. I'm not familiar with engine swaps and emissions outside of K-series engines(k series have programmable ecu's unlike the one you have now)

If emissions are the least of your concern I'd still go with a good turbo setup, but do it right, lots of research and it also means being prepared/dedicated to put $$$ into your car.

Alright well im not trying to spend the money on a swap but I just want it to be a little quicker off the line basically I want my 0-60 faster Im going to do an intake and full exhaust and I'm thinking of changing the injectors I don't know what else I should do I don't have a huge budget to work with. I need to do more in expensive things
