omg impound and crush, that's so drastic and sad.. imagine that, the car you just ordered from japan, like a beautiful car, and in a matter of seconds it's crushed to a little metal box.. I'd cry..

the reason i suggested 89 to 93 stangs is they are mass air and easier to mod than the 86 to 88 which are speed density, they take a bit more work to make lots of power but are still fun...

True. But honestly, any Fox-body Mustang you're going to find these days is going to have been hammered. So you'll want to pull the drivetrain out anyway. Why not just get what you can afford and build what you want? And dipping into the entire line of Fox-bodies offers a lot more prospects of getting a decent chassis to start with. Rear-wheel power is rear-wheel power, no matter how the air gets stuffed into the intake. Plus, without the hassle of the later model ECUs, you can dump a supercharger a lot cheaper onto an early-model 5.0 and damn-near double the output. And if you wanted that later-model powerplant, then get a wrecked 5.0, and drop the drivetrain into a pristine early-model chassis. Because it'll all drop right in.

Just lots more options available, is all I'm saying - you could feasibly turn a '79 GL into a '93 Cobra simply by swapping parts. Just like a Jeep CJ - you can pretty much bolt-on all of the late-model CJ parts (mid-80s) onto a '52 CJ-5... because they didn't change much until '97 with the new TJs. Heck, even '96 Wrangler doors will fit on my '80 CJ-7... for instance.

no offence man, but if i was going to spend money on a mustang it would be a 60's one or a 2006 and up model. Im not a fan of the years in bedween to be honest. Just junk to me, hate the body style and all. But thats just me personally. And yes im trying to stick with ricers, they havent been bad so far.

No offence ment, Eric.

Im kinda stuck guys. I really do like my civic, but i dont really like the FWD aspect of it. Not for putting down power but for the fact that one day i want to have a drift car, and that would kinda rule it out, would just be sliding then lol. So i want somthing along the lines of a 240sx, maybe a 350z (expensive!). But that will be a ways down the road after i get out of school. So im trying to decide. Maybe boost the civic, or just save the money for a new RWD car.

Tell me your thoughts.

Eric.
I was in the same boat...so I bought both! I have a 97 civic hx with some mods(winter car) and a 1990 240sx coupe for my summer car. The 240sx is not a great drift car stock...(at least here in the states) Your right though the 240sx does get expensive! The parts are a lot more expensive for the 240sx than they are for my civic=-( Butthe 240 isfun especially with the sr20det motor swap! (mine has 496rwhp 20psi, one word... scary!) So in deciding what to doI guess I don't have an answer for ya, just pick the project that's going to make you happier I guess!
