Default Stupid question...I know I know.

How much do you think the circled part of a 98 EX weighs? No I am not planning on cutting it off or anything crazy like that. I had just been wondering how much dead weight my car was carrying around becasue of it.

So they are the same other than that? O.K. I had done that before, but wasn't sure if they gave me a true figure of the weight.

Thansk MXS.

well, take off the wing for sure...that might save you like 4 lbs... you dont need it anyway, but keep the bumper, fenders, and trunk lol...

that's actually probably within 20# or so i would think... you lose the rear quarters and trunk lid effectively... but keep the bumper etc...

weight reduction? instead of focusing on your rear end, what about start by getting rid of your ICE system? Them subs def adds weight to your car. How about your rims? Are they lightweight? I dont know why youre concern of 'dead weight' when you are adding stuff that doesnt involve engine performance.

i'd recomend getting a smaller engin, maybe take a saw-zaw to the number 4 cylinder and make it a 3 cylinder. by doing so you might be able to make the engine air cooled and cut even more weight by reducing the cooling system, cooling and ICE system should be removed.

edit: you mgiht want to consider putting a snail under your hood, and realize your car already weighs about 2400 lbs and any less weight would just cause the car to flip over front over end.

how about cutting a hole right below your feet? if you think youre going too slow because of weight, you can swing out your foot and power it up fred flinstone style

i would consider making the car remote control, that would eliminate 200 lbs or so depending on the weight of the driver.
