I am really mad at my local honda dealer. My 97 civics, 114k miles failed state inspection "air bag light staying on". I took to a dealer who advised the car has bad sensor (77960-S04-N94) and a crack radiator. I prepaid for the sensor and they would call when it arrived. Ok. 1000ft from the dealer the car blew up. I open the hood and the radiator neck was broken. I U-turned to the dealer and asked why didn't you informed me the radiator neck is broken off and you taped it up that's no damn crack, someone had to had dropped something on it or rest their body weight. He says that's how I brought it in. BS, the car has never leak green fluid on my garage floor and has never over heat.
Any way I have it towed from the dealer to my personal mechanic who will fix the radiator for $800 less.
There're 3 dealers in my area so I plan to take it to another to fix the sensor.
My question is, are the dealers the only people who can replace the sensors? My mechanic is small mama-papa without any computerize machines.

Well! I tried to get the owner # to no avail. This is one of the largest dealer in my area. They sprawl over 3 city blocks of the most affluent real estate in one of the richest city. Some one told me to try get a statement from Good Year auto and/or my mechanic stating that they had serviced and inspected the car a few days earlier and didn't see the damage; then send it with a letter to the District Attorney. Any one knows if this viable attempt?

I think you should call the regional office for American Honda to see if you can log in a complaint.
Its pretty hard to break the neck of the radiator and I can't see it breaking off all by itself.

I took the car to another dealer, he says I can't properly test the defective air bag light because the car battery is dead ($125). I say it's only 2mths old still under warranty. I took the battery back to Sams Club. They tested above capacity. I informed the car dealer he says perhaps one of us tester is defective. I returned the old battery to the car dealer and 15 minutes later my car was ready to take home.
I have come to the conclusion that honest businesses are impossible to find, since big corporation has bought or subdue the small ones. As the military takes our young people and turn them into killing machines, corporation turned those left into thieves. Do you think the men who brought us the laundry list of lies they claimed our car needed have a chance? It's either comply or find another job - I am guessing.
Next year if the if the Baxter tainted swine flu vac. doesn't kill 2/3 of us I am selling my possession to become a full time volunteer to the poor. I can't take any more of this evil greedy lying world. If there's no Jesus Christ then give me death now.
