Suggestions for what to do next
Right now I have a d16y7 with a few mods. Centerforce stage 3 clutch, CAI, a/c delete, performance plugs + wires, megan racing header, and a 2" custom exhaust. I have read somewhere that getting a FPR wont really give me an advantage over not having one. is this true? i found an underdrive pulley and cam gear as a set for 180. I know what the pulleys do but how exactly does the cam gear work as far as adjusting it? sorry if these questions have already been answered. i just want to know more specifically with the mods i have what would be good to do next

I got a good deal on it through the business my work gets some of their stuff from. I plan on putting a turbo on it but thats not gonna be until im out of school, and i race a lot thats why my stock clutch started slipping.

1) please tell me you don't street race... and if you do, at least don't roll race... roll racing is (to quote tony) the gayest thing since gay came to gayville.
2) look into getting an aftermarket cam... but before you do, you need to be 100% sure whether you'll boost or not; turbo and street cams are different. You can use a N/A cam on a turbo motor, but you won't see as good of gains as you will with a turbo cam.
3) check into an intake mani and a bigger throttle body. You really won't see huge gains with no turbo and the stock cam, but you'll see decent gains once you do put a cam in or boost it
4) if you have the stock cam, don't worry about a cam gear; all it is with the stock cam is bling. Once you have an aftermarket cam that can actually benefit from adjustments, feel free to get a gear.

no i don't roll race. and its actually pretty organized street racing. the chicago cops are fairly cool about it as long as we dont block the road when an occasional trucker comes through
What company makes a cam for the d16y7? I haven't been able to find any. Should I do the mini-me swap and then get a cam? will that head affect me getting a turbo later on? thanks for the help!
