Well, considering that I just purchased it 12 days ago, it has 5w20 in it. When it comes time for the oil change, I'll be taking it to the dealer since I have a free first oil change voucher. I'd stay with the 5w20 since that's what the manual says.

If there is some reason not to use 5w20, why did the car come with it in the first place?

i know alot of people with 8th gens and you can't always go by the meter. some have over 8,000 miles with 30-40% oil life left and in my opinion thats to long.
