Tune up for a new car?

If there is some reason not to use 5w20, why did the car come with it in the first place?

Well, considering that I just purchased it 12 days ago, it has 5w20 in it. When it comes time for the oil change, I'll be taking it to the dealer since I have a free first oil change voucher. I'd stay with the 5w20 since that's what the manual says.

Hello mlee,
I'm glad to meet someone else with an '09 Civic Coupe.
To answer your questions:
1 - Your car monitors the life of the oil. When it gets down to 10% it's time to change it. That's approximately 5,000 mi. (Cycle through the odometer display until it shows oil life)
