Default Turbo Dseries versus a Bseries swap??

Yes i know there are about 10 million different answers and reasons to go for either, but i wanna see some opinions.

I'm looking at either a CRX or eg/ek coupe if i buy a honda. and looking for a car that will do mid 12s-very low 13s with the use of drag slicks up front/street tires out back.

Will the B-series stay naturally-aspirated or are you going to turbo it, too?

You definitely want a CRX than. The logic to boosting a D-series is simple - by the time you swap in a B you already spent the same money as turboing the D. Now if you want that kind of time you will be doing some major engine work... I've never personally built a 12 second honda, but I would say that you're better off with a turbocharged B18 for this purpose. More money, but I think that is logical for what you want.

well eventually turbo it, but i wonder if it would be worth it if i could make the same times with Dseries and a little motor work. It doesnt seem like low 13s is too horribly out of the question on the stock internals. How long it holds? well thats debateable, but its not gonna be a DD.

Your not going to make a 13 second Honda on stock internals. Neither D or B series. Both will need work. The power required to run a 13 will simply destroy the motor.

^There is a boosted LS swapped EK Couple in my town that has run multiple mid 13s on slicks and race gas. Motors all internally stock.

I also say do the B swap. Then continue to save for a turbo setup while enjoying the extra power the B gives you. Then end up with more power in the end.

^ This.

Do a B-Swap, and then save up and turbo the B. You will make way more power than just turbo'ing the D.
