Default under the hood fabric/protector

I'm not talking about the hood protector that goes on the outside, but when you lift your hood up, under the hood there's that dark hard fabric thingy that covers the entire lid of the hood... anyways, my used civic didn't come with one, so is it a big deal to get one or can I just drive it without one?

Mine doesn't have it either. I think it's just used to cut down on some engine noise really.

Thats because Civic's (not 100% sure about the new ones) don't come with them. They merely cut down on engine noise.

You can drive w/o it no problem.
