Default Are Up & Downstream 02 sensors the same?

Just this afternoon while I was shopping for O2 sensors for my 98 Honda Civic CX, I came upon a description for oxygen sensors from RockAuto.com for $20.00. Within the description it mentioned both upstream or downstream so initially, I thought that this was a universal O2 sensor.

Instead, what I was told was that the O2 sensors required for my Honda Civic aren't that at specific, wheres I could merely buy two oxygen sensors, and stick them anywhere, whether before or after the converter. However, being the diligent person that I am, this didn't seem right to me.

I'd rather not experience any headaches, so I defer to the forum for everyone's opinion on this matter.

In closing the manufacute is APWI and the Part # is AP4160
More Information for APWI AP4160

I believe both are the same....double check on that though. Let us know how it works out for you. I need a new o2 sensor, too. As long as that has the clip to connect to your harness, you should have no problems. Be sure to apply a small amount of anti-seize on the threads in case you ever need to remove it again.

Primary has an OEM part number of 36531-P2E-A01.
Secondary has an OEM part number of 36532-P2E-A01.

Technically, they show to be different part numbers, however, exactly how they are different I am not sure of.
