I am about to buy a 1999 coupe EX with 102000 miles on it for 7000.00.They are telling me it has a vtec engine.Is that what this car comes with from the factory.Does this seem like a fair deal.It checks out on carfax.How can I tell if it is a vtec. Thanks.

 

yes a EX has VTEC.

 

if its an EX, its definitely VTEC. Cant really tell you 7k is a fair price without seeing the car.

 

Price seems high, any more details? service records? I paid 8k for mine in 2003, it had 60k miles on it at the time.

also shouldnt the engine say it on the top ??

 

To make sure it's the right engine in there, look at the block for D16Y8. That's the engine that it should have. Yes, VTEC
