hi, i have a question...i'v never had a new car and i recently purchased a 2005 Honda Civic and cannot for the life of me find any info. about warm up time for the car or if it doesn't need to get warmed up before driving in the morning. do new cars not have to get warmed up? does it matter? thanks.

I remember reading a post, that said in decent temperatures a minute is good to let the oil flow around and all that. If you live in a winter wonderland though, I've had friends let it warm up for as long as fifteem minutes. Specific to your vehicle, I have no idea. And yeah, Welcome!

all i can say is any car runs better after it has warmed up. i personally try to let it warm up atleast 5 minutes, or until the gauge starts to climb.

By CA do you mean California, or Canada?

In warm weather I give mine about a minute. In the winter tho, it runs for about 10 minutes before i drive it.

In the summer I start my car and take off. In the winter I let it run for a minute and go. I don't make quick acceleration for the first few minutes

Dito. In the summer, I let it run for a minute or two but now it's getting cool. I'll let it run about 3 - 5 minutes or until the temp gauge goes higher.
