does anyone know roughly what the weights of these are for a 96 civic

hood
fenders
trunk

which are all replaceable with carbon fiber. i was just curious as too how much weight i could lose by replacing all of stock parts listed above with C/F.

thanks.

Carbon Fiber Hood $350
Carbon fiber trunk $500
Carbon fiber fenders $500

$1350 is a lot for some weight loss.

Not sure about the hood or the trunk, but I do know that the fenders would totally NOT be worth it. They only weigh like a pound.

There is a lot you can do before you have to spend a grand to lose 50lbs.

Remove your spare tire and jack. Make sure you have some nice lightweight wheels. And just a note for everyone that has a sunroof........the glass and motor weigh more than the metal without a sunroof.

Theres a list somewhere showing the weights for pretty much every wheel ever made. I'm not sure where it is, all I know is its floating around on HCF somewhere..

Or you could always try searching, or placing an inquiry with the manufacturer.

If you wanna spend 1300 on weight reduction stuff, there is a better way to increase your power/weight ratio. It is called a turbocharger. I've heard on this forum that it can be pieced together for about 1400. Maybe that should be your route instead of spending that much money for 50lbs. Also, take the crap out of your trunk that you may lug around. And you could take the back seats out just for race day.
