Default What is the difference?

Greetings to all!

Sorry for my lack of knowledge of things, but what is the difference in the LX and EX 2001 Honda Civic Models. I just bought a used one and I am trying to learn up on it.

Thanks,

MM

i think the difference is interior features such as sunroof for example the lx doesnt have that but the ex does. but they pretty much have the same motor.

I looked up the engines for you; the 7th gen LX's have the d17a1 engine and the EX's have the d17a2. The difference is that the a1 is non-vtec and makes 12hp less than the a2. Other than that, it's the features like munkee said.

And welcome to HCF

EX has a few more luxury features (i.e. sunroof), a stronger engine (HP wise, not reliability-wise... they are pretty equal in reliability), and a shorter geared transmission for better acceleration. Other than that they are pretty much the same.

This is pretty accurate. The EX and LX were different mostly in the sunroof, VTEC, intake manifold, exhaust manifold/cat, optional ABS, optional rear discs, rims/tires, tranny ratios, and possibly the anti-swaybars.
