Do you use the cheap basic or the more expensive high performance and does it make a difference if you do? I had a '94 BMW 325 and I used the chep stuff but now I have an'05 Civic ex should I change?

 

use 83 octane and dont buy from small, dirty, cheap gas stations. Shell, Sonoco, etc is worth it IMO. also make sure they have the little inspection sticker checked off with the right dates on the pump..

93 works best on my 95 si hb d16z6

i even use no octane booster and it helps !

 

use the octane rating the manufacturersays to use. using higher octane without proper modifications isnt gena do anything. and octane booster is a joke, it actually REDUCES power.

 

I put 93 octane in my JDM GSR Swapped civic.

 

I usually get the cheap stuff and ive been using fast strip lately and that seems to be agreeing with my car...

I dont go to valaro cause i filled up there once and it put over eleven gallons into my car and i think my car doesnt even have a 11 gallon tank...so thats a rip...but..nothing fancy for my 72 hp beast!

 

Instead of running premium in a stock z6, you should just use regular, and toss the rest of the money you would have spent on premium out the window while driving down the highway.

 

well ive been running the high stuff in my 94 just cause the motor condition being unknow and the gas in the tank was siting for who knows how long... so im pumping the good stuff thru it for at least 2more tanks then ill see if i feel a difference with the cheaper stuff which is what i almost ALWAYS put in my 99.. every now and again i splerge....
im also gonna put some nice synthetic oil in the 94 on my next oil change. see how that feels.....


but in the winter i tend to use the higher stuff all the time and pour in HEET and injector cleaner in as well once a month or so... just to prevent any problems...

 

You guys talk about premium fuel as if you're treating your car to something special, which is not the case. If you don't have a setup that requires it, there is 100% no reason to run it, period.

Do some research on fuel grades, and it'll all make sense
