I know it makes the car looks good and it lowers the center of gravity of the car, and hence one can turn sharp corners better. is there anything else to it?

 

You pretty much answered your own question but they are generally stiffer than stock springs so that helps handling more also.

 

yeah aftermarket suspension is a lot stiffer, so it helps the weight of the car when you accelerate and turn

 

LOL ya you answered your own question really...... better looks, better cornering hell ya!
also depending on what struts ya buy you can adjust the stiffness of them as well for a smoother ride or firmer ride.
and with some suspensions you can also fully tweak the ride height, great for the track!

I've seen 20's under an 03 acura TL type S...stock suspension. The thing looked kinda like a rollerskate....if you're gonna do the 24's, at least get some bling and a gold tooth for yourself too LOL...

Seriously, if anyone has a pic of a civic rolling on anything 20 or bigger I'd like to see it...
