Same here. Hondas are pretty infamous for that too, the coupes always look better than the sedans

 

the last generation civic i really liked was the 6th gen hatches. i am not a coupe or sedan guy at all, hatches are the way to roll. my favorite is still the 4th generation

 

Funny I hated all Civics till the 2006 came out...

 

I actually considered an 06 for a while since it's the safest compact car out there. It was after driving the car I didn't feel that other driviers would be safe because of me. I felt that I would have to really get used to driving one. Then the other thing I found out was that dealers were asking a premium for these cars and that there was a mark-up on the MSRP. Even going through Costco the dealer in my area would discount the MSRP by only a $100. I found my 05 purely by accident by browsing Craigslist on day (usually that's how I get my good deals, ie., my Sony Vaio laptop I got for $350). I scored my LX for about $200 below the wholesale book price.

 

Do you get the 4 door hatchback in the US>? I keep seeing pictures of a 2 door coupe, which doesnt seem to exist in the UK, though i could be wrong?! The hatch looks pretty good from the front 3/4 view though, really sucked down onto the road when they pass you

 

Nope, no four door hatchbacks I know about. For some reason, the U.S. has been labled "hatch-backphobic." Car and Driver and Motor Trend have also noticed this, and can't understand why.

I, personally, love hatchbacks--they all tend to be very practical and fun to drive. I only go for sedans now because I have twins. Oh, and cops statistically tend to pull more 2 doors over than 4 doors.....

And btw, I'd have to go with the 4th and 5th gen civics as the best hatchbacks--I often wonder why we can't just make the same dam car for 20 years!

 

I like the 96-00, and 01-05 civics,m and the '06 coupe, i don't really like the sedan

 

they look more like a chick car now....

 

We bought an '06 LX sedan for the reasons some people don't like it- the interior is as large as my old '95 Accord, prefered the convenience of a 4 door (versus climbing over the front seats in a coupe). Yes, that front end is kind of flat- looking compared to older Civics, but it grows on you.

As far as it being a chick car, that's only when my wife drives it. When I'm behind the wheel I like to see the speedo in triple digits...

They all look good to me. I really miss my old '91 EX, great car and I even liked the blue interior! Especially the '06s, wow they're sharp. Maybe I should trade-in my '03 rex...uh, no.
