VW have problems. 3 of their top sellers (golf GT, beetle, and passat) all were ranked on the top 10 worst cars to get last year. now i'm not sure if that was with everyone's VW but hell, from all my friends that owned VWs that a pretty ****ty brand.

I have owned 2 toyota trucks in my life. I had a 84 4x4 and I drive a 2000 Tundra...very reliable!!

 

which reminds me u should also check out honda's new truck they are coming out with this year. i forget what it's called. Looks pretty interesting though.

Well the VW engines are actually pretty good, but it's the small things that kill reliability. In most cases things like MAF sensor, IAT sensor, O2 sensors, and coilpacks. If you take care of the car, it will take care of you
