Just tell it like it is. Go up to him and tell him you know he would win, and that it's not even worth it for you. Then just keep him thinking that while you build your car, then some day (soon?) you can actually race, and act all surprised when you win (though if he keeps building HIS car, you're gonna need a lot).

at the moment you have 3 hopes:
No hope
Bob Hope
and the Cape Of Good Hope.
Just save you money and race later.

Well, looks like you are screwed, but if you have to race him, do all the weight reduction stuff, and make sure you dont race on a full tank of gas, go with 1/4 tank or less, also, what kind of raci is this, cause if its one that involves turns, then suspension can win it for you, but if its a straight line, go buy an mx6 lol. You never know, he might miss a shift or something, then you have 50 extra bucks for mods, and save it. I don know much about hondas but I know that there are bolt on turbo kits that you can get, If there were bolt on kits for mx6 for a decent price I wouldn't be trying to get a girlfriend lol.

the used nitro kit is actually a pretty good idea, just don't get too excited with all that power and blow your engine.

The thing is, he probably won't use it but like once or twice and it will cost more than he is going to win.

But if you do decide to get a kit, be safe, are you running stock internals? Guys, just wondering since I am not actually a civic owner, how big of a shot can a stock civic take?

I'd say about 50 - 70 shot depending on the condition of the engine.
