Default woohoo, no more grinding!

changed my tranny fluid to the Honda stuff and it doesn't grind anymore when I shift into 3rd from a high RPM.

so yea, advice to anyone considering not using Honda fluid in their tranny... think again, the ****'s magic

oh, and the stuff I was using before was mobil1 10W-30 full synthetic
before that was the original fluid, and it grinded with the old fluid and the new synthetic, but not anymore once I put in the Honda stuff. I could tell from looking at the fluid and its odor that it was different from just ordinary oil

When using motor oil in the manual transmission, Honda specifies 10W40. 10W30 is likely too thin.

odd, my haynes manual said 10W-30... but then again... it's the Haynes manual so it's probably wrong. lol

funniest thing about it is that 2qts of Honda MTF costs less than 2qts of Mobil1 synthetic oil

Amazing how the stuff works isn't it?!?!

Changed mine from God only knows what the original owner had in it to Honda 'Jen You Ine' Friday morning, as well as changing out the slave clutch cylinder tooas it appeared to be leaking a bit.

I was kinda ticked that the service rep at Piedmont Honda in Anderson, SC said that I needed 3 quarts of MTF after he looked under the hood (WTF?!?! ), but that's okay, I am one quart up on what I will need in 30k miles I guess.

he was probably thinking of AFT, of which the drain and refill capacity is 2.9qts. Please tell me he didn't give you ATF.
