Is it worth boosting my d16z6 motor or should i put a DOHC in my 90 civic hatchback?

my friends b16 that was some what built beat my other friends d16 which was built as H**l, and boosted at 9 pounds, go B20 block with either b18 head or b16 head

Or don't risk blowing up an engine and burning 2 grand+ and just get a DOHC ZC.

I know a guy who has a d16z6 a runs low 14's and the cars best time was high 13's and its nothing but boosted. And since my honda is hella lighter than i hope i will get mid/high 13's. my car is a 1990 civic hatchback dx
