Default Itzcorky 10 Second project

Okay everyone so with my project it is going to be huge but I plan on turning my D16z6 EX Civic into a 10 second car but the thing is I am going to need the community's help to do this. To start off what is the first thing I should get to get started towards 10 seconds? Turbo?

Honestly, it would be easier with a B series engine. It's gonna take a lot of building to make a single cam that fast.

Turbo, sleeved block, completely worked head, lower CP pistons, rods, rod bolts, clutch, flywheel, axles, brakes, tuning equip, 3" exhaust (at least...maybe even 3.5"), 1000cc injectors (at least), walbro fuel pump (possibly an in line pump too)... and I dont feel like typing any more. Start removing most all of your interior, too.

Basically everything will need to be upgraded to support that type of power.

Do you have a budget for this build?

You'll have to swap, and even if you do... you know this won't be streetable, right? a ten second civic is pretty much drag only. your cams would be rough as hell.

10 second Civic doesn't take THAT much whp, it is a lot but it isn't insane. Local has an eg coupe in the 10s and it is making like 550 whp and it is streetable. When you are making a 10 second car it isn't in the cams, it is far from that. Cams are needed to be able to have more lift, but it is all in the turbo. Cams are 100 times more important for all motor vs boost. But you can easily street a 10 sec car, you don't run full boost 24/7 lol, that's what boost controllers are for. I wouldn't recommend dd'ing a 10 sec Civic, but hey, go for it. A shop owner has a Del Sol that is in low 10s, might've even broke in to the 9s, he drives it on slicks on the street lol. It takes a LOT to make it fast, but it takes a LOT to make it go fast SAFETLY.

And if this is your first big project, 10 sec car is a ridiculous starting point. Takes a LOT of money, knowledge, and skills to be able to do it.

you have many options, google and read peoples builds. there are tons of people who have posted the info online already about their builds and how/what they did to get 10 secs. then after you find something you like and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Like Mitch said there's a lot of options. Plenty of 10 second d series, but a high boost b18 will be your friend. But honestly it doesn't sound like you know enough about this stuff to do it on your own (no offence). If it was easy, a LOT more people would have 10 second Hondas.
