How is the rex coming along? Get any work done or has the snowpocalypse been impeding progress?

The rex is being held up by this damn weather. But its suppose to clear up this weekend. I need to get it running asap. The hatch should not be on the street in its condition. Busted headlight and whatnot.

Having a RHD civic is not very appealing to me. Sure, its rare. But why?
Also, such task is not ' easy '. It is more than just cutting out the firewall and replacing the whole front end. There are a lot of measurements to do. One small mistake in this kind of swap and your car could be ****ed. Also, one bad weld could ruin everything. Or welding too hot. Blah. Forget all that crap. Also, a shop would charge a few grand. I'm good. lol. I'll just rebuild myself.

The CRX as it sits. Got rid of the gody rims for some smaller ones. =) From a Fit. lol
And as for its current condition: Not running. Blowededed the head gasket due to thermostat locking up mid drive. Good temp to OH **** in no time.
While trying to change the thermostat, I managed to break the thermostat housing. UGHH..

After I fixed that is when I realized the head gasket had gone. Was throwing straight up radiator fluid out the exhaust. Medium-pimpin style playa! lol

So I took the valve cover off, and realized the cams had to come out to take off the head. I was kinda pissed by this. So..

Thats as far as I've gotten. I have the intake manifold half- removed. Just the top bolts. The bottoms are going to be a bia to get to. And so are the exhaust manifold bolts. Ugh. The damn cover has me pissed off. But hopefully I'll have this running again soon so I can get the hatch back up to worthy condition. New motor and new parts on front end. Kind of expensive, but its an EF- so its worth it!

That rex looks like it has a pretty clean interior going on. That thing should be a beast when its running again.

And hopefully you can hunt down some parts for the ef. Doesn't look like you have too much to replace as long as you can find a decent car for parts.

The rex is in pretty good all around condition. Get some new plastics on the side and what not, and its great. Only thing that blows is previous owner took off the factory spoiler and tried to use putty or something to fill the area. Looks like sh-t. Complete sh-t. Also has the biggest damn fart can I have EVER seen. This will be removed when the car is repaired. I'm not sure of the seats condition. They have seat covers. Haven't taken them off to see why. Might just be a ricer thing. Everything is black and red.

I don't think the repairs will be too bad. I MAY have found the guy who hit my car. I have a buddy at work that knows a guy with a truck that matches the description I gave him. The pic of the guys truck looked VERY close, if not it. If it ends up being him, I'm going to make him buy me a bumper, headlights, corner lights and radiator. I'll get the hood and fenders. If he declines this great deal, I'll be filing a hit and run.

Heyheyhey! Guess who's back!
The crx is has been up for a while now. Wasn't too hard to fix. Intake manifold bolts were just a pain. Ii had gotten a harley davidson muffler to replace the fart can, but it was chocking the car at higher speeds. It now has a cherry bomb pro muffler and sounds spot on. Nice down low tone. Sounds smooth throughout the rpm range. This thing is a torque beast. Love it. took off the rice seat covers. Seats look pretty good other than the spill spots from drinks. Need to clean that and they will be great.

I'm just about ready to jump ack into the hatch project. Going to do everything in slow steps, but it will get done. Will start off n/a until I have everything running perfect. Then comes the turbo.
