just ordered my suspension from THMotorsports.com!

Tein S techs and Koni oranges FTW! Should be here in about a week. If everything is in good shape, I hope to be installing it next weekend. Pics to follow!

my car is still leaking power steering fluid, but I can't seem to pinpoint the leak. I got a bottle of Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak in hopes that it would slow/stop the leak.

Any suggestions as to where to look? the hoses seem to be ok near the resivoir and pump. I'm worried its the rack and pinion. If I had to get a new one, I dont think I'd be able to do the swap myself. But I certainly can't afford to have a shop do it.

This really blows. I dont want to blow all my motor swap money on a ****ing rack and pinion. Totally depressing.

Meh.... just pull the P/S out and loop the lines on the rack

I was quoted about $1300 to replace the steering rack last year. I found one on eBay for $60, and installed it myself. It is not a fun job to do in the middle of March when the temp is in the 30's.

^ Rack stuff sucks with a motor in lol, that's why it is nice to have my motor out and loop it all now. Except I thinking of running a little resivour with a breather for the fluid, that will the rack won't build up pressure and turn easier.

well the guy with the H22 wants 250 for it. I dont know what model it is, how many miles are on it or what accessories (dizzy, alt, etc.,) come with it YET.... Plus my friend who knows the guy with the engine says we should be able to chew him down to 200 since he's a friend... heheheh

I'll probably just limp around and keep putting fluid in the power steering pump until I swap the motor, and when I swap it, then I'll throw in a new rack and pinion. Just gonna cost me another 200 or so. =/ And if it costs too much to keep doing that, maybe I will just loop it.

does anyone know if its possible to keep A/C with an h22 in an ek? I've heard both yes and no. I'm gonna go search HT...

if I cant keep a/c then I may just look into sourcing up a b18 or b20. they're a dime a dozen around here. (and dont tell me to just ditch the a/c... it regularly gets in the upper 90's in the summer around here and I'm a fatty lol )

AC can be used, just takes some fabbing.

And $250 for an H22 is a good deal, at least by me they aren't worth a ton because not a lot of people like to do stuff with em. But it'll add up quick getting stuff, which is partly why I sold mine. You'll need trans, shifter box, shifter cables, mounts, dizzy/intake/header (make sure the dizzy is matching to the engine, obd1 and obd2 dizzys are different, obd2 has the knock sensor on the block). Trans is pretty cheap, by me I could get em for like $150, so overall the swaps not that expensive. And if you plan on going for biigernumbers over stock, I'd recommend doing the h23 manual tensioner conversion, much more reliable.

I won't be going for huge numbers over stock. I'm thinking I'll get a kiddracing header for it, full custom exhaust at 2.5 inches, possibly twin loop muffler. Stage 1 or maybe stage 2 cams and I'd like to do a little headwork like springs/retainers and maybe valves. But all that stuff won't be till later on down the road since I won't be able to afford it right away.

I forgot about the shifter box and cables. and 150 for a tranny?? thats cheap. I haven't found them locally, only on ebay... and on ebay they're going for like 350! and thats without an LSD...which I would really like to have.

it LOOKS like a kiddracing header will fit in there anyways...

I'll probably just get one of those crappy 40 dollar ebay headers to get it up and running and get a kiddracing one later on down the line....

heres an h22 ek engine bay with a turbo stuffed in there.
