SuperSize's DD
thats why i bought the obd2-usb cord, just shut it off. itll stay off for about a week then turn back on lol. its my cat. from what i read from ronj, a missfire will destroy your cat, and when i degreased my bay, water got in and i had a cylender 3 missfire. so yeah, im guessing thats what caused it.
sounds like my problem. thats what i am doing right now as well, i got an obd2 scanner and just clear the code everytime that it comes on. i've brought it into a shop and they told me that its the cats problem. but they didn't tell me what was wrong exactly. did he tell you how to fix the problem? is the only way replacing the cat? hx cat converters can get pretty pricey
i never took it to a shop for that, i just keep clearing the code, but i seen where ronj said something about a misfire killing a cat so i figured thats what happened with mine. im just going to keep clearing it.. im hopeing it will stay good because i want to take it on a couple thousand mile road trip this summer lol. i plan on going from PA to IL, then back. its only like a 10 hour drive but i want to make sure everythings in running order, i got to get my valve adjusted and everything. anyone know what i should all do before i go on the trip? i know i gotta change my oil, my spark plugs and everything are new, idk what else i all got to do. i was hoping to pawn it off and ride with someone but it dosent look like thats happening. im just hoping my car dosent brake down along the way or get broken into.
Clearing the code technically resets the ECU, right? If so, you are not allowing the ECU to set itself since once the monitors are in place, the CEL comes on and you then reset it again. If there is something wrong, just let the CEL stay on, it isn't like anything negative will happen with that light on that wouldn't happen if you just kept clearing the code. If the code is really for the cat converter low efficiency, just leave the CEL on until you actually fix the problem.
nah, its in august. www.juggalogathering.com
anyhow, update time:
* Removed fog lights
* Wired airhorns up to stock horn
(5 minutes later, they dont work.. gotta check to see whats wrong with them and possibly ditch them for a train horn)
