If he just rebuilt a motor 100%, why wouldn't he put it in a nice shell and DD it, or sell the car?
i asked.... said he picked up a B series

Something doesn't add up. Would you personally spend the money (probably about $1k or so) completely rebuilding a D series, only to say "Meh, never mind." and buy a "regular" B series motor?

Something changed, or happened. I was building a D series for the supercharger build, then swapped to a H series since I wanted a higher ceiling for power. Plus, the D series build was not working out for me so I scrapped the bad parts and sold the rest.

Just don't believe everything the seller says, that's all I am warning you about

Is it put together? Does it run? Compression test numbers? You want ARP bolts for the rods at the absolute very least. If those mounts are not name brand, just trash them. You don't want broken mounts do you?

No, not assembled... My plan is to pick it up and see what I am missing and what needs to be replaced.... Might put money into the bottom end and build that up if money supports it. But the way I see it, I have about 2k to put into doing this right

Doesn't sounds like a bad deal, however, I am sure there are ALOT of little things you might either miss, or not account for when pricing everything out.

What does "freshly black" mean? Painted? If so, repaint it some other color. You want oil leaks to be hidden?

everythinbg looked good, its sitting in my garage now... few things though... its the wrong water pump and timing belt for a ls/vtec from what i read... missing most of the bolts for the head... well alot of bolts for everything really... though it looks like the cylinders were freshly honed.

I think you need to use the GSR pump. I would start reading up on the swap!
