just kinda sitting here at 3 am...hopefully no one takes offense to this..but since ive been here ive noticed alot of the cars on the ride of the month nominations tend to be the people on the forum who have been here a longgggg time.. i mean i understand.. but thats giving these other guys almost no chance being a noob.. as for that... i also feel it would be kinda kewl if there was a set standard how many times u can be nominated in a given time span.. and maybe we could make it that there has to be at least one person who's fresh on the forum in the running?? and when i get my civic dun i think im gonna try to work on a ride of the month car care package given to the monthly winner... just let me know... end of thoughts... thank you...

I think that some people take ride of the month waaaay too seroiusly. But, I'll answer your question with a question. Didn't C5 win during his first couple months here? How bout berz getting nominated and almost winning his first month here? Ary hasn't been around THAT long either.

There is also a fairly good reason that the "verterans" get nominated. They've been here for so long, that we all know pretty much everything they have done, and are doing to their cars. We have a much better idea of what has gone into those cars, and therefore are more inclined to nominate/vote for them.

In a nutshell, it's just a forum, and no one should really be that worried about who wins rotm. Its supposed to be just for fun

 

people keep complaining about this, and I keep telling them: if you don't like who is running, NOMINATE SOMEONE ELSE! The rules aren't really that strict. It was like pulling teeth to get 5 nominees last month, then when we finally got them, people complained that the admins were running. Just keep an eye out for the nominations thread around the 10th of every month

 

I think it would be nice if we could only vote and not be able to comment in the rotm thread... Because 99% of the drama has come from rotm the last few months.

I think 05 may be on to a good idea, maybe even go a bit further to put up a poll and then seperately put up a comments section.
Just a suggestion.

 

we can't do that with the forum software. If we lock the thread, then people can't comment, but then they also can't vote . . .

 

im not complainin about who gets nominated and what not.. but i think maybe we should make an effort to start a thread for those who qualify.. make like a post once thread... delete anything else that gets posted.. that way ppl know whos on the forum and with what cars they have... let them post once with a list of mods and a pic... update it if they need too... but nooo talk.. .its gonna take some moderating power..but i think it would be kewl to have pics/mod list of everyone in one thread that way everyone knows whats up for nominations.. not all of us have pics of our cars in siggys/avatars... and i personally dont like the feeling of stalking ppl looking at their profiles
