Transmission mission
So I have a manual 99 civic ex. D16... nothing special. One tire spins. Drives me bat **** crazy!!! im hoping to eventually do the motor over, complete strip down. I want an h22 but my dreams are too far from a reality.
QUESTION how can I get both tires to grip? Can I change the transmission-if so- what tranny can I use? My friend has a vtech civic with a b16 swap. The thing screams!!! I know obviously if I put in a bigger motor I could do an ls but just can’t swing it right now. Thank you in advance

You seem to desire a LSD transmission. ...vtec. No such thing as a "vtech" Civic. Also, your motor has vtec assuming you have the OEM d16y8.
I did the H22 swap into a 99 Civic EX in the past. Unless you absolutely want the biggest motor possible, you could have much more fun with a boosted set-up. Figure out how much you want to spend and what your power goals are. Don't bother with the LS motor unless that's what you intend on building in the future. No reason to do multiple swaps if you can help it.
My 99 Civic (pre-H22 swap) had a supercharger on it and made ~160whp. The H22 made ~200whp. Still to this day, I admit that my biggest mistake with cars was yanking out that supercharged D16 for the H22 motor. The s/c setup was a blast to drive. I've since moved on to a turbo'd Miata - boosted RWD is much more fun

Hello! I am just a newbie and I want to go into the world of drag racing. I run an all-out d15b turbo setup with stage 4 clutch but still stock tranny... any suggestions to what I should upgrade my tranny to before racing?? Thanks!!!
Newbie, start your own thread! But it sounds like you need to contact Quaife for a sequential 4sp to maximize your power output, then govus on suspension to get it stick ho thr ground, after that you need pwm boost control dialed in go maximize power output, then lots of launch practice. Biggest gains in fed are on the launch, final that in and hhe redt comes onnits own.
