Default 06 to 08 Si SRI

OK....quick question here.

I'm wanting to get an AEM SRI for my 08 Si but most of the websites I am looking at don't have the 08 listed and the site I want to get it from only shows the 06 Civic Si. So....is there any difference really between the 06 and 08 as far as getting an intake?

the 06 and the 08s have the same engine, so there's no difference. you can buy the intake

That's whatI was thinking....I was just hesitant to order something and then have to go through the hassle of returning it.

SRI will make vtec sound a little louder, it's higher in the engine bay and is like directly in front of the driver in the engine bay. CAI will stay a little cooler and possibly have a slightly higher gain then SRI when used with Race header and exhaust. i ended up going from the AEM SRI, which i wnated, to getting the injen CAI.

With the mods you have listed in your sig.....can you really tell a noticeable difference? I'm not planning on runnig it at the track or anything where a 100th of a second is a big deal...I just want to spank the mustangs and other V8s that always tested me in my 93 eg. Although since I got the Si no one has pulled up to the light with me yet.

there is some diffenrence, not a alot though. most of the HP gains you feel are simply psychological. i have I/H/E, i beat a 1997, and 1999 mustang GT(stock), with my upgrades in my sig. i also beat a cobalt SS and a integra with GSR motor. i have that video on youtubue. my car actually is a 08' i wrote down 07 cuz as you know 7 is next to 8 and was a typo. lol. check out my videos online.

to spank a mustang do intake. header, exhaust, bigger intake manifold, i think skunk2 is coming out wiht one for our car, 70mm throttle body, or individual throttle bodies, valve springs, retainers, lightened fly, and race clutch (ACT all the way). larger fuel pump, and injectors. lastly, hondata reflash. you should be good right there. its all about getting air and fuel to your motor. i know it sounds like a alot, but you can do those in order, out of order, doesnt really matter, with those upgrade you will notice alot.

or you could do simply, i/h/e reflash and you might be able ot take some mustangs. i was lucky and got people who had nothing done to theirs, so i ended up winning. lol, you gotta love V-tec.

you could also do turbo, run 6-7psi at first, with exhaust. have around 280-290hp, you will beat a mustang then. even the new ones.

also check out 8thcivic.com that site is with people who really only have our SI's. they have sick DIY's, and tons of ideas and help support for you and your car. i got a ton of help from ther and met people just as willing and helpful as hondacivicforum. they also have meets and clubs in local areas and everyone meets up and helps out with building up cars and stuff. it's deff something to look into and worth it.
