yes its a good idea. my 95 EX has about 165k miles on it and i installed a cat-back and new headers in the past few months and i am very very soon going to buy an intake. theres no problem with them and the power gains are really great. as long as the engine and everything else is in good shape then I/H/E is no problem. honda's are built to last so dont worry about it. as long as u keep good care of ur car and dont push it to hard to many times, then ur good to go. good luck and have fun!
civicexracer has experience with putting the i/h/e on a car with a few miles so i would listen to him....i would also go for it too,it wont cause any damage

Id go ahead and go the I/H/E route. I got my car with about 120,00 miles on the motor, and Im planning on boosting soon. A Honda engine with 100k miles on it, is still in damn good shape. Id definitely do a leakdown and compression test though. Better safe than sorry.

ya short throw shifters are awesome. dont even waist ur money on a like $50-70 one, just buy an el chepo one for like $25 from pep boys, autozone, advanced auto, etc.... they work just fine considering its a piece of metal with a hole in it...if u do have concerns or are second guessing getting an intake, then atleast do headers and cat-back. if u do want the sound of an intake and a couple of horses, then get a cheap AEM short ram. it'll be safe.

an intake isnt going to put any more stress on your motor. you driving it harder because of a little more power, and a lot more noise will though....

Thanks for the reassurance guys. I’m excited about getting my car modded. I'm planning to get a Greddy Evo 2 cat back, but what is a good header for my car? I was thinking a 4-2-1 header but which brand? And for the intake I’m thinking of getting an aem v2. Does anyone have a v2 for their civic that is the same model as mine? Does the intake go all the way down? Or is it kind of in the middle of a cold air and a short ram intakes length?

Thanks guys

DC headers are good and cheap.
