Default 2.25 inch piping and bolt in cat

a buddy of mine is gonna do this within a couple of days and i am wondering is it gonna free up a lot of power or just add a lot of power he probably wont leave the cat in just put in the extra straight pipe.... im just asking because we can stay pretty even but is this gonna make a big difference.

It will make him more efficient, which will result in more HP. If you guys are pretty even, I would be very curious myself as to what kind of difference it makes. Go to the track when he gets it on and let us know what happens.

Yeah, I was assuming he meant cat-back with straight pipe in place of the cat.

what i ment was i thought that that little can underneith the car was the catalatic converter but it isnt the cat is a part of the header so never mind about that bolt in cat,,, he is just getting 2.25 inch piping from the headers back to the exsaust which he is gonna have angled up and out sideways

sry for this misunderstanding but it should be very interesting.......are we looking at like a noticable hp gain of like 5-10hp or like on a couple of hp because 5-10 is pretty noticable on d-series motors

Wth? He is just running straight pipe from the header out? That ****e is gonna be loud dont you think? Let alone the emissions. Tell him to leave the cat on (that little can underneath). If he's gonna go all Nascar on us he might as well be responsible about it.

Tell your buddy to install the header upside down and run it out the hood.

no what i am trying to say is that the ACTUAL cat is part of the header and the second little can is like a little extra cat just to catch some blow by or something like that i dont remeber what the exhaust guy told me but the exsaust is gonna be bent just like stock and have a muffler on it still but it shouldnt be to loud because it is only an 8 valve civic cant forget about that
