i have a choice between a dc 4-2-1 header and a 4-1 dc header...which should i go with, or does it matter?
|
4-2-1 vs 4-1 header
i would guess they are gonna pretty much be the same. if so the difference will be negligable.

4-2-1 vs 4-1 header
The 4-2-1 is just what it says...4 pipes into 2 pipes... then into one out to the exhaust. It separates the exhaust flow a little more and might give u a few more horsepower (maybe 1 or 2 tops) . 4-1 is 4 pipes directly into 1 pipe...
Its kinda like the freeway, if2 lanes are trying to mergeat the same point, its alot easier on everything than 4 lanes trying to merge, does this make sense?
If u can afford it... go with the 4-2-1, but if u are doing minimal mods then the 4-1 wont really hurt anything.
|

RE: 4-2-1 vs 4-1 header
Did you ever go to the start of this original Headers and Exhaust forum, I started it a while ago and posted a 4-2-1 Header in it.
Take a look at it and then if you wish e-mail me back..I'll answer your questions for you.. WheelBroker/Ang |
RE: 4-2-1 vs 4-1 header
If you can get the 4 to 1, get it.

RE: 4-2-1 vs 4-1 header
I would go with the 4-1, if you talk to any real racer it gives you the better ratios and HP.

RE: 4-2-1 vs 4-1 header
the 4-2-1 is better for midrange power and the 4-1 is better for top-end power, if you are into auto-x or circuit racing, go with the 4-2-1, if you are more into drag, go with the 4-1. that said, the difference isnt that big, just try to get a quality header in either configuration

RE: 4-2-1 vs 4-1 header
4-2-1 is better mid- range power the 4-1 is a better top end set-up
