Default AEM SRI?

I just had an AEM SRI installed on my 95 honda civic dx, 4dr. It is quiet that is a good thing. It does make a whistling noise from the amount of air it sucking up. It does seem like more better throttle response, but only a slight jump in performance of the car. I suppose the next thing to do is to get a cat back exhaust. The stock exhaust is horribly small, the piping. Should i be able to hear that whistling from the intake?

What brands do you recommend and a good size for the exhaust.

get 2" piping. go custom exhaust. read the exhaust faq for exhaust ideas...

i am well aware that 2" is pretty small as well, probably not a huge increase on the stock piping - whatever it is right now, but your car has a d15 and it doesn't produce that much power to justify any piping larger.

Yeah those damm D15's, stuck with it now. So you say anything bigger then 2" would be a waste, because there isnt enough power anyways. What would happen if i has one that was bigger then 2"? Im not expecting alot out of this engine, but whats really the best i can aim for performance wise on a D15.

just do the basic Intake, Header and Exhuast if u want to do performance wise on the D15. also a on ur instake try one of those K&N Filter they say that u get better result from it. and that about all u can do i guess.

the d15 has ~102 HP. depending on your engine condition, tranny condition, conditions of atmosphere, chances are you'll see less than the 102. probably 90 ish (if anyone has a better estimate, correct me). with 90 hp, daily driving, you will see a loss in low end power if you get something large. 2" - 2.25" is often recommended for cars with a minimum of 100HP, and the 90 HP that you have, you'll probably be safe getting the 2". with IHE, you'll gain the ~10HP and then you'll be over 100 HP, thus the 2" will be perfect. if you plan to turbo though, it's an entirely different story.

i would get a header first... your intake gives the motor air... then the header is what puts the air through the exhaust. i mean i guess it doesn't matter what you get first as long as you get both eventually

just think of your motor as an oversized leave blower with combustion. both ends of the motor are restricted, so you'll see a fairly equal increase between the two.
