Thanks again.

Is there a whole lot of difference betweeen a catback and full exhaust when it comes to hp and sound?

to build a full exhuast you need to buy the catback, cat, and header seperately. the catback and header together will prolly add 8-10 hp, the high flow cat may add 1 if you're lucky

a catback alone will add about 6 or 7.

no real difference in sound...but all catbacks sound different

I'm probably go with the catback system then. I'm getting the CAI installed today so it should be a sweet ride after I put in the catback system.

Any suggestions on which one to get? Is the Greddy Evo II a catback system? That's the one I'm interested in.

I was under the impression that an "axle-back" was from the axle... back; basically just replacing the muffer w/o any welding(one piece). And a cat-back was from (not including) the catalytic converter... back?? Whatever, I don't guess it makes a difference.

yeah, you guys pretty much have it sorted out. an axle-back is one that replaces the muffler from the joint right in front of the rear wheel. a cat-back replaces that and the pipe that connects it to the cat, and the exhaust system is everything from the header to the exhaust tip.

one more question to add to this...i was looking online, and i've always been a greddy exhaust fan, but i also noticed that the Apex WS2 exhaust system sells for about $80 less....could anybody explain any power differences/tone differences and which would b a better buy for a poor high school kid [&:]

thanks, Evan

ha poor highschool kid..welcome to the club

between exhausts theres not gunna be much of a power difference...but IMO nothing sounds better than the evoII. but apex makes some great exhausts too.
