CAI
Thinking about getting a CAI but was worried about water. I live in Memphis and it rains some (cause its winter) and I may see the ocasional puddle but thats pretty much all. Also someone said that the CAIs designed for civics have the filter enclosed between the wheel weld and the bumper so you wouldn't have to worry about water. Is this true?

Yeah I think 6th gen CAIs will be bent to already fit between fender and splash guard... That means that as long as you dont submerge your car in higher water than there is space between wheel and intake you'll never have problems. Simota (westimports) has a really good one and I got mine for 80 bucks shipped. You can get a more expensive one for about 300 or more

Freaking LOVE my v2. No problems at all in HEAVY thunderstorms. Just don't drive through standing water.

If I accidentally go through a 6" puddle (which I rarely do) is it going to matter much?
Also if I got one and installed it, if I wrapped in in insulation (like some of the heat pipes in an attic) would it help keep the air cooler? |

not worth wrapping, it looks cool:D and i drove through a 6" once and it shuddered a bit but was fine. The puddle was about 20 feet long. Hit it by accident, but my car was fine.
