Today's coolants are supposed to last 150k miles. How often does honda recommend changing the coolant? My 08 civic has 37k miles on the original coolant. I have also read that we are supposed to use SILICATE-FREE coolant to avoid ruining the seals on the water pumps. Jimmy

I heard Honda coolant is good for 65k, while the cheap stuff from pepboys is good for like 20-25k.

If you are worried about buying the wrong coolant, just go to Honda and buy some direct from the dealer.
