Default Cold Air Intake

I own a 2000 Honda Civic Hx. It is a Sohc V-tec 1.6 liter. All of the cold air intakes that I find for sale are for Civic Ex's and Si's. I do not know if an Ex/Si intake will fit my car. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will fit. Youve got a D16Y8 engine, same as an EX. La mismo Mierda!

Most intakes that are listed for Ex's say that they will fit Si's also. So all three are basically the same?

Well theyre different. The 2000SI is a B16 motor. Its a Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) and the EX is a Single overhead Cam (SOHC) its called a D16. If you buy an intake for a 2000EX it will fit your engine if uve got a SOHC VTEC motor.

The 2000 Civic Ex was a Dohc also.

yea most d series parts are interchangeable, d16z6/d16y8 however the d16y7 intake comes out the top of the intake manifold instead of the side. and just like pete said, the 99-00 si is a dohc engine so the intake would be different but the 92-95 si's are the d16z6 (same as the 92-95 EX).

If you are unsure just ask the seller if it will fit your product, and give him your engine code aswell. Usually they get back to you within 24 hours. If they don't you don't want to do business with them. Also on ebay do a search "00 hx civic intake"

Heres what I got: 00 HX search results

It may sound farfetch'd but so far in all my questions the seller has been great to me by phone or email. Doesn't hurt to ask. Do you have SOHC or DOHC motor.
