Hey guys, im new here so don’t laugh at my? .
I just installed a cold air intake in my 2000 civic dx. The filter is sitting where the vacuum box was on the right finder side. My question is what are my chances of getting a hydrolock when it rains and im driving on the high way. can water getting in lock my engine

Its really hard to get hydrolock. You would have to hit a really big puddle and soak the filter.

wont the water/spary form the rain come in from were the hood or were the hood and the head light meet, and the grill meet, and soke the filter causing hydrolock? i have to drive like 1 1/2 on the highway ever day and im worried about the days it rains.

Its only going to hydrolock from giant splashes coming up from underneath the car, or driving through a lake. If your that concerned about it, you need to get a short ram intake...

First, thanks for the quick feed back. Second, it’s my only car so. That’s why im concerned. but i guess your right it should be ok. There probably isn’t any water getting in the engine bay anyway, right?

cold air intakes are fine in the rain......in order to have hydrolock youd need to completly submerge the air filter in water.....it rains a lot in jersey too.......but i dont really see too many puddles that reach the 2.5 feet height needed to submerge my intake filter.
This is a good quote and will answer your question. Sorry if I came off *******-ish, I didnt intend to at all. But youll be fine with your intake.

not even. you need to submerge the filter so the engine is sucking up only water and no air.
