Cold Air Intake Question
The pvc pipe was formed to the foglight whole... It looked complety stock. When i raced i use to pop the engine compartment and they would ask do you have a intake.. I said no they looked and said okay. and then i would beat them.. I was going to do it do my Lx 99 civic but the intake is differnt.. On the hx the intake goes to the fender and down.. then its hooked to the bottom of the box.. Makes it really easy.... On the 99 lx it stock airbox sucks hot air in the engine compartment.. but the funny thing on the 99 theres no whole in the fender like the hx... I thought all civic were the same.. LOL
Anyways back on topic, OP honestly I would just save your money and spend it on something else, the intakes wont make your car faster.
I have an '06 EX coupe I just bought one off ebay the other day for like $57 with everything including open element washable cone filter. Make sure you get one that has a 3" filter inlet not only for that fact, but that way you can adapt your basic over the counter cone filter later on if needed, such as a K&N. I had a stock fit K&N before, not impressed. Used them in other vehicles in the past and made a great improvement, not so much in my civic though.
heres the one i bought on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
P.S. - PVC is ghetto man...

The K&N intake that I got adds horsepower to the UPPER RPM range. <6 horse to be more precise.
You can use your discretion on the validity of the dyno charts they include with the intake. I'm not saying it turned my Civic into a monster or anything, but I did notice it was more responsive and it has been a lot more fun to drive.
This being my first performance upgrade, it sure is great to see all of this knowledge coming from the woodworks after I made the purchase.
But hey, I learned something I suppose right?
Good day.

he is right. a pipe is a pipe... nothing will change
name brand intake is where it's at....all high name intake brands spend countless hr.s and money to make best flowing intake they can. Take the AEM v2...AEM engineered that intake to cram the most amount of air into a small place as possible...that’s why there is the canister on it. It creates a "tornado" effect that atomizes the fuel finer for a cleaner more efficient combustion. All good name intakes do the same just about. This crap about a pipe with a filter will not nearly perform as well as a name brand CIA or SRI...hands down dynos don't lie
