Confused
Ok I think I read somewhere in this forum that some civics have the cat attached to the end of the header...
or something.. I was just wondering if someone knew the trim/year cause I cant find it anywhere. |
RE: Confused
All VP/DX/LX Civics have the cat attached to the header
All EX Civics have the cat unattached to the header. |
RE: Confused
what yr is your car and trim also.....

RE: Confused
I have a 2000 civic cx hatchback.
So is it possible to install a new header and a new cat back system? When I bought the civic it came with a Ractive muffler, and im not sure how good it is but I dont think it does much. Can you suggest something? |
RE: Confused
yup you're one of the unlucky ones with the cat attached to the header. To keep your car emissions legal (and modified), put a header for a 96-00 EX and then get a universal cat welded somewhere in the exhaust piping. (your engine is the d16y7 btw)

RE: Confused
I dont really care if the car emissions are legal or not, it's Canada they don't really care haha
|
RE: Confused
alright, well its also exhaust tone/smell. Its louder and smells worse without a cat
|
RE: Confused
Hmm, that's true. We'll see, I'll think about it. Still not sure if I want to dump a bunch of money into the car right now.
So what would be better? getting a universal cat or getting one of those test pipes/down pipes.. not sure of the difference |
RE: Confused
get a hi-flow cat. it's not cool to go around polluting more than you have to.
|
RE: Confused
a high-flo cat attached to the end of the header?
