Ok I think I read somewhere in this forum that some civics have the cat attached to the end of the header...
or something..
I was just wondering if someone knew the trim/year cause I cant find it anywhere.

All VP/DX/LX Civics have the cat attached to the header
All EX Civics have the cat unattached to the header.

I have a 2000 civic cx hatchback.
So is it possible to install a new header and a new cat back system?
When I bought the civic it came with a Ractive muffler, and im not sure how good it is but I dont think it does much. Can you suggest something?

yup you're one of the unlucky ones with the cat attached to the header. To keep your car emissions legal (and modified), put a header for a 96-00 EX and then get a universal cat welded somewhere in the exhaust piping. (your engine is the d16y7 btw)

Hmm, that's true. We'll see, I'll think about it. Still not sure if I want to dump a bunch of money into the car right now.
So what would be better? getting a universal cat or getting one of those test pipes/down pipes.. not sure of the difference

get a hi-flow cat. it's not cool to go around polluting more than you have to.
