actually resonators are finely tuned instruments. go to www.howstuffworks.com and read up the 'mufflers' part. it has a page on resonators.

 

I had a custom made resonator on my truck that had custom designed chambers, no glass material... just the shapes and angles canceled out different sound waves... it sounded so awesome. My truck sounded like a peterbilt. It was about 14" across and 52" long and was made for 5" exhaust pipe.

Ok, I guess I didn't realize everything that was called a resonator was actually a specifically designed chamber setup.

So then if someone plans on making a custom exhaust (first a DC header, then a magnaflow cat) what are your options for the resonator?

I haven't seen anyone sell just resonators...

 

magnaflow, megan, greddy...they all make and sell universal resonators.

 

Damn, I must be dumb then because I couldn't find them. LOL

its all a matter of opinion. just look around at some sound clips and find out what exhaust you like and get a res from that company.

 

ok how about most quiet sound.... and should i go to each website to hear them... not sure where to find the sound clips.

 

They seem to be coming up as test pipes.... are these the same?
