aalright guys i have a 98 civic ex i bought the car with a axle back muffler is wat it looks like. the muffler isnt ne thing special prolly a ebay or pep boys kind doesnt sound that bad tho...i wanna get 2.25 piping done i was wonder if the fact that this is no name muffler is it still gonna give me the hp increase im on a budget thats y i wanna get the piping done n keep this muffler.... im aloso planing on getting a high flo cat and headers 4 2 1.....thanks

 

IMO, I'd try to save up a bit more cash and replace that muffler with a stainless steel muffler. Even if you have to buy a cheap one. Or else it'll be rusting out on ya in a year or so, then it'll cost big bucks to get it done at a later date.

 

it also depends on what kind of muffler it is...like how the core is made
