Ceramic headers are less expensive, but are prone to cracking if they get to extremely hot. Stainless steel headers are more expensive but are more durable and generally more stylish. Stainless steel headers can take any kind of heat you throw at it and not prone to cracking. If you currently use or plan to use nitrous, it is highly recommended to use a stainless steel header system over Ceramic coated mild steel header system as stainless steel is more resilient to extreme temperatures.

Whoa! Hold your horses in the barn. I dont know where you get this info, but to me some of it sounds like b.s. First off, I dont see much of weight difference between the two. Why is stainless better looking than ceramic? Have you ever seen what happens to a stainless steel header after you install it on a car, and drive it for a while. It discolors, and looks like some one took a crap on it. Its brown, blue, and a combo of other shades. Cermaic on the other hand, keeps its color, and looks cleaner in my opinion. Where did you hear that ceramic headers crack under nitrous? You will actually get better performance with a ceramic, because the coating keeps more heat in than the stainless; there for better exhuast flow velocity is maintaned. Stainless more durable and stylish, ok, if you say so.

Guys, take it to the classifieds please. No need to further crap on this thread
Yes, I did post in the classified section. Everything is worked out, no more posts regarding the sale will be made here.

In all honestly i dont really care if the header is blingy in the beginning its something i dont even factor in for reasons i want to buy one. Im looking at a couple things: realiability, performance(flow), weight, and price. I originally was planning on buying the ceramic 4-2-1 one peice header anyway but wanted to see if paying an extra 100 was worth it. Also i dont see either headers weights being to far from each other in fact im going to email DC sports and get the weights from them and post them up here.

Ill sell you mine. Im going turbo, so no longer need the header. Its a ceramic 4-2-1 one piece type. Its been on my car for less than a year. There's a little bit of surface rust that I will polish off with wisk. Its comin off of a 93 ex. Let me know if you're interested and I'll post some pics. I'll sell it to you for much cheaper than what you'd be payin on ebay.
On the DC Sports 4-2-1 header, is there an O2 bung near the engine (like about 12 inches from where the header attaches to the cylinder head)?

Ok let me clear up this weight issue real quick. These weights are for 4-2-1 one piece header 96-00 EX models ONLY.

HHC5513 4-2-1 ceramic one piece header = 20 lbs
HHS5513b 4-2-1 stainless one piece header = 21 lbs

Got this info from a sales rep at DC Sports. The rest of the debatible features i didnt ask about.

Theres a bung near the end of the header, toward the back where it connects to the cat.

The ceramic headers keeps the underhood temperatures lower, your hoses will last longer.

even if there is a five pund difference, your going to gain 6 pounds when you go out to dinner the night before you race or what not.
