first of all i hope i'm in the right section....if not....then i apologize.....but what is a downpipe....and what does it do for your car. i mean i know it is tied into you headers/exhaust somehow...but where and what? thanks

 

I think the downpipe is for people who have tubro on their car. not sure how much it gain but on the wrx will gain around 25-30hp i think

 

No way, you'll see 25-30 out of a new downpipe. It's the piece that connects the exhaust output of the turbo to the rest of the exhaust. The turbo manifold, turbo and downpipe take the place of the header.

if your car doesnt have a turbo then you need "HEADERS" instead of a downpipe
