We have a 1999 Civic LX with 156,000 miles, running strong. Sadly the exhaust manifold is cracked and leaking. I'd like to bring the exhaust manifold to replace at a local shop. Are there any other components that are recommended for replacement at the same time? What are my options, what are highly rated frugal options? For longevity's sake I'm decoupling the mechanic's responsibility from choosing parts going forward.

For continuity's sake -
Last week, the timing belt, tyres (P185/65R-14 Kumho Solus KR21), clutch master cylinder and slave master cylinder were replaced.

If this car can run for another 100,000 miles we can part happy. With that in mind, please ;-)

 

Generally you'll want to replace the exhaust manifold gasket and collector (donut) gasket when you replace the exhaust manifold.
