Unhappy Exhaust Suggestions

Just bought a 1999 civic hatch with a D16Y8 in it. Its running a Greddy T25 turbo kit with a straight pipe (2.25") to the back of the car with a Carbon Fiber can type muffler at the back, and man is it LOUD! Everytime I drive it I get to talk to the cops, and they aren't real intrested about the car, or any story I have for them! What can I do to quite this thing down? Was told to put a resonator on it to quite it down. I've never used one, do they work? Any other ideas for it, that wouldn't create a bunch of back pressure? Thanks in advance guys!

I have to admit I like that you guys tell everyone to get a ws2 or sp2. It just means less people will have my exhaust

Test pipe is long gone, and not running a cat at all. Any other suggestions?

Yes, run a cat. There is no reason (unless you are racing on a track) to go catless.

Secondly, Buy an oval shaped muffler, Greddy, Apexi, Tanabe, all of these people make oval mufflers. Go an an exhaust shop with that muffler have them cut off the carbon fiber can and weld in the oval, should quiet it down.

if you are still not satisfied, buy a resonator, this goes in the exhaust after the cat and before the muffler to further quiet down that system.

And Stein, yeah, I have been shopping around cause all I can find is the WS2 and I don't want to be like everyone else. The Catback i do have coming will be a first on HCF =D

Needs a cat, a resonator, and an oval-canister style muffler. Get that and you'll have the sound you want.

That Greddy EVO 2 is extremely loud. My friend had it on his 01 GSR and when cruising down the highway you had to turn the music way up to drown out the constant exhaust note, even at 2500 RPM. If you hit VTEC in his car everyone was going to know it.

Well I don't have a turbo, but.... The Evo 2 sounds amazing on my civic and most other people can vouch in saying that it sounds great. Maybe once I get a turbo going though I'll think otherwise... Eh probably not. Don't think anything could idle or even sound better before i hit 5k rpm.

I like the Evo 2's tone, and I think it's great, but I think my problem with that exhaust is the volume being too loud.
