Default Fix it ticket for Intake... Need suggestions!

When I bought the car, there was an illegal intake on it (the one you make from Auto Zone), and a bunch of us got pulled over the other night and were written up for basically anything they could find. So of course I got written up for the Intake.

So, my question is, where should I be looking for a decent carb legal cold intake or short ram intake system? What companies are best?

Does anyone have experience with getting a fix it ticket on this and what did you do to pass?

Thanks!

look into AEM, i know they have carb stickers specifically their SRI. i'm not quite sure about Injen or K&N as i have no experience with them. but check those 3 out. usually what you can do for fix it tickets is you fix the intake, i recommend putting your stock one back on,to pass first by either going to your state ref or local police station not sure if its the same for your state, different state does it differently. after you pass then get yourself any intake you want and hope not to get caught for that again. or you can get a AEM SRI and show them the carb sticker on the intake to prove that its legal.

btw... what did you guys do to even get pulled over and popping up your hood?

We were going to drive the canyon and had to wait on a car, and apparently some of the other guys didn't tell us they had already ran that canyon 15 minutes earlier which is an automatic burn...

I don't have the stock air box... didn't have it when I bought the car..

Just get a carb sticker, and slap it on your Auto-Zone intake. (I'm not recommending this, because it's illegal, and we wouldn't want to break the law. ) I believe it was Trust who had one for sale, in the classified section of the forum. It's a lot cheaper then buying a whole new intake; yours is just fine.

Typically, you would get the issue fixed and then show up at any police station to have an officer inspect and sign off the ticket. If you just get a sticker and slap it on an illegal intake, you MAY run into a cop who knows and then you are busted again. Get an AEM intake and be done with it!

Here in California, if you are stopped for any reason like tinted windows, loud exhaust, not coming to a complete stop, etc. the cop can have you open your hood. A guy I work with had this happen to him and now he has to have his truck smogged every year instead of every 2 years.
