Gas Mileage

RE: Gas Mileage
That's cool, but 32 mpg is still more than even the EPA estimate, which is always higher than true mileage. Exactly what kind of "city" driving are you doing? I'm thinking maybe it's not as "city" as my "city" driving. I probably spend as much time idling as I do driving due to traffic and excessively frequent stop lights[:@]
Still, if I drive gently I can get 1 mpg below EPA in the city, so I don't consider that awful. I'm just jealous of your seemingly insane MPGs!

RE: Gas Mileage
Well, the city i live in is fairly large, but not quite like what you're describing. I have probably 8-12 stop lights on my way home from work (and TO work obviously) depending on which way i go. And i never have to sit through more than one set of cars at a given light, so i'm not idling nearly as much as you are. I dunno, Next time i get a full tank i'll really keep an eye on it and try to give a precise number.

RE: Gas Mileage
I'm getting about 24-30mpg on my 7th gen EX. 60% local driving & 40% highway. My engine is still 100% stock.
Beside spark plugs, change your wires & distributor cap too. Replace the air filter or if you are using an aftermarket intake, clean the filter.
I just replaced my spark plugs & air filter last week. I noticed a better mpg this week so far. 18mpg for a Civic is extremely low.
